ROCK FUSION LICK
For my first guitar lesson on my website I will share with you a lick I use to spice up a pentatonic solo. Nothing wrong with the pentatonic scale, I use it all the time but sometimes a note or two can boost your pentatonic ideas. The lick is in A Dorian (A B C D E F# G )but you can use it on a A minor, A5 or A7 chord, it will sound fine.
Tablature and traditional notation here web lick 1
The lick start with descending G arpeggios starting on the D the eleventh, then a B the ninth, a G the seventh and back on the D, after we comme back to the pentatonic scale with C the third and A the root. The lick is actually an A minor11 arpeggios. Use it in your Blues or Rock solos it will had a new flavor to your old pentatonic ideas.

Until next time, have fun with the guitar!
