I don’t have a number one guitar but this 2002 Paul Reed Smith Santana III is one of my main ones. I got the guitar new in 2007 at a great price. That day, I tried every PRS guitars in the store, they all sounded very good, but the Carlos Santana signature model really hit the mark for me that day.

The Santana III is like a vintage Les Paul with a tremolo: 24.5 scale length, mahogany neck and body, maple top, big fat neck and two humbucker pickups. The quality of this guitar is second to none and the sound is so good. I have played countless gigs and recording sessions on that guitar because it feels like home to me.

 

My go to guitar when I need a Strat is a 2007 Namm limited edition custom shop. Fender Stratocaster. I got this guitar in 2010, from a friend who needed money for a Kilimanjaro expedition and offered me the guitar at a very good price.

I was not a fan of relic guitars, until l played this guitar. What an eye opener!The look of the guitar, with the sunburst nitrocellulose finish, is magnificent and the sound is very fat for a Stratocaster. The neck is a soft v maple neck with a modern strat radius, very comfortable to play. The pickups are the originals fender custom shop pickups that where in the guitar when they built it and the sound is very good, one of the best strat I ever played.

 

Je n’ai pas de guitare « number one » mais ma Paul Reed Smith Santana III 2002 est l’une de mes guitares principales. J’ai acheté cette guitare neuve en 2007 à un très bon prix. Ce jour là, j’ai essayé toutes les guitares PRS du magasin. Elles étaient toutes extraordinaires, mais le modèle Signature de Carlos Santana avait un son qui a fait pencher la balance cette journée-là.

La Santana III est comme une Les Paul vintage avec un trémolo : un diapason de 24.5 pouces, un corps et un manche en acajou, une table en érable et un gros manche d’une bonne épaisseur et deux micros Humbucker. La qualité de cette guitare est parmi les meilleures et le son est excellent. J’ai joué avec cette guitare en spectacle et en studio si souvent que j’en ai perdu le compte.

 
La guitare que j’utilise quand j’ai besoin du son classic Fender est une 2007 Namm limited edition custom shop Fender Stratocaster.
J’ai acquis cette guitare en 2010, d’un ami qui avait besoin d’argent pour une expédition au Kilimandjaro qui me l’a offert à un très bon prix.

Je n’étais pas un fan des guitares « relic »
Jusqu’au jour où j’ai essayé cette guitare, une expérience qui a changée mon opinion. J’adore le look de cette guitare, avec la couleur sunburst fini nitrocellulose, qui donne un son fat et chaud pour une Stratocaster.
