Hey People.

I hope you love the guitar ( who doesn’t) the most magnificent musical instrument created by mankind. I know, some evil forces want you to believe that the electric guitar is dead or at best a zombie. I know we don’t hear electric guitar on commercial radio anymore and a big guitar manufacturer is  having financial problems but those problems are part of the corporate world. I am not naive, money is a powerful force in the universe but not the only one. Creativity is part of the human experience and you can’t take that away but when you put money and endless profits before art you get ARTificial music. The industry  need to take chances at least a little and stop being predictable and redundant like a zombie in the countless zombies movies and tv shows.

I know music is a business and I have no problem with that but we need some new blood (  vampire movies are more my style, ah the twilight era) and to let go of the past( and Twilight). I know, we all love vintage guitars and amps but how many reissues do we need, how many new versions of an old guitar the world need to keep turning. The Past was good and is still relevant today but we need to look forward and to be creative as musicians, to give a new spin on an old wheel and to reinvent at least in part our music. Forward can be good for the musical instruments company also look at : Fractal Audio, Strandberg guitars, Kemper,Mayones guitars, Aristides guitars and countless others. Those companies are very successful because they are different  and original. There is nothing wrong with playing vintage guitars or newer classic designs instruments but if you want to play blues on a Jackson there is noting wrong with that either. The late great guitar player Jeff Healey did play classic designs and super strat guitars

We are all guilty of not letting go of the past and to be influenced a little to much by our idols. It is time to accept that musical instruments are tools, very cool tools but the music is the important part. The world have been waiting for a new Jimi Hendrix for a long time but the world need to accept that the new Jimi Hendrix will not sound like the old one or play the guitar upside down. The electric guitar is not dead,or a zombie, it’s an instrument, the most magnificent musical instrument created by mankind. Be free, be creative and be original.
